Before entering, stand squarely before the gate with palms pressed together in silent prayer. The approach to the temple is considered to be the Buddha's path. Please remove your hat and walk along either side of the path.

• Hold a ladle in the left hand and draw some water. Pour water over and clean the right hand.
• Hold a ladle in the right hand and clean the left hand in the same way.
• Pour water on the cupped left hand to rinse the mouth, and quietly spit out the water on the base below.
• Return the ladle gently to its original place and continue to temple.

Note:The ladle is always used to draw water. Do not wash hands or rinse the mouth directly with the water.

Deposit offering （Japanese yen）into the offering box, and place both palms together quietly in prayer. Bow once after praying, with both palms still together.
