Adhistana (Kaji) Well

Legend tells of Kobodaishi giving fire-offering prayer to save local villagers suffering from disease. Answering the prayer, pure water flowed up from a dry well and healed those with the disease.
The newly flowing well, located on the west side of the Main Hall, led to a new name for the land: Nishiarai, literally "new well of the west."
