"Kiriko" style glasswork such as Edo kiriko and Satsuma kiriko, as well as Arita-yaki ceramics, and Nambu ironware are some of the manufacturing methods used to produce over 500 wind chimes collected from around Japan and displayed in the center of the temple grounds.
Wind chimes were prized for warding off illness and evil spirits in ancient times. Today, they are a staple of Japanese décor thought to help bring a cooler summer.
The wind chimes offer a wondrously diverse range of sound and appearance. They are available for purchase on-site.
