The Daruma doll, a traditional Japanese doll modeled after Bodhidharma, protects its patron against illness and calamity.
Every year on the day of Setsubun, the day before spring, Daruma dolls that have completed their work and have been brought to Nishiarai Daishi are consumed in flames as burnt offerings and sent on their way, while mountain monks chant sutras.
First,prayers(fire offering:Ogoma)at the Main Hall ( Mobile Map No. 8 ) from 11:00 a.m.
After praying, the monks move to the venue(Komyoden).You can enjoy the state of glorious movement in majesty.
After arrival, the Daruma Doll Offering will be held around 11:30 a.m.
